Dear Rotarians,
Good morning from the Pan Borneo Meet in Kuching.
First, the new total donations/pledges: RM248,000!
That is about 3.3 million pesos.
This is simply fantastic when Rotarians feel empowered to do the right thing.
And I am expecting more.
And there are many ways to get more donations.
For example: At the Pan Borneo Meet opening event last night, we conducted
a round of collection by appealing to more people to give – any amount.
No amount of contribution is considered not significant.
In good manners (or bad) I even poke the guest of honour Dr Jerip Susil,
Assistant Minister for ublic Health, Sarawak to contribute before he can leave.
And he and spouse graciously donated RM7,000.
We even conducted an auction when golf winners giving up their winning prizes.
A golf bag fetched RM4,000 and a bottle of whisky RM777.
With cash gotten when we pass the bucket around the tables,
we raised grand total RM20,000 in less than 30 minutes.
And this in addition to a cheque of RM30,000 received from RC
Kuching Central and RC Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei.

Etican Ramasamy gives RM3,000.
Many Rotarians & volunteers have indicated to me to want to go Cebu to help.
Well, not now for a big group.
I want to get more information and try to organise one next month.
