DISTRICT’s GOAL for clubs: conduct activities to strengthen effective operation of the club.
- Implementation of club leadership plan:
- 61 out of 66 clubs ‘adopted’ CLP with modifications allowed
- Dist’s emphasis on membership and TRF
- 34 clubs applied for presidential citations
- 42 clubs vied for district awards
- Four successful membership development seminars
- Started with 1696 members in 65 clubs
- Nett gain of about 100 members
- ‘weak’ clubs appointed membership chair(one club with 9 members achieved 55.5% growth)
- One new club was chartered –RC of Sentosa Singapore
- 24 major donors
- Total TRF contributions as at April 30, 2009: USD290,000
- Annual giving: USD163,000
- Restricted fund: USD98,000
- Permanent fund: USD29,000
- APF per capita: USD95.00
- Two PHF clubs : RC Bandar Seri Begawan, RC Jurong Town
- EREY clubs : RC Pandan Valley, RC Marina City, RC Kuching Jaya
- GSE team to and from Denmark
- Matching grants stopped(DDF balance brought forward : USD40,000)
- Donations to polio plus:
- DDF : USD12,000
- Total to date: USD47,262(ranked number two in zone 6b)
- Most of the Malaysian Clubs received fantastic media coverage for their projects/activities
- Singapore and foreign media gave excellent coverage of the intercity meet in Singapore with President DK Lee and MM Lee Kuan Yew.
- Clubs are setting up websites and blogs
- E-newsletters are coming up

- PETS/dist assembly in Kota Kinabalu with a record 400+ attendance;
- First time district conference in Brunei at the 7-star Empire Hotel
- Intercity meet in Singapore, attended by RI President DK Lee and MM Lee Kuan Yew, who received Rotary’s highest award of honor (600+ attendance)
