As announced earlier, the District Literacy Seminar will be held as follows as follows:
Date: Saturday, 16 Jan 2010
Time: 12.30 pm to 5.30pm
Venue: Fort Canning Lodge
6 Fort Canning Road
Singapore 179494
Fee: $40 per pax (inclusive of lunch, tea-break and seminar materials)
The seminar will seek to realize the following objectives:
To increase awareness of Rotary International’s literacy programmes and projects worldwide
To engage Rotarians in discussion on how the world needs to progress beyond basic “reading & writing” literacy to new forms of literacy.
To encourage Rotary clubs in the District to undertake one or more literacy projects
Datuk Hj Md Latip Sarrugi, District 3310 Governor, and PDG Dr. D N Raizaday, Zone Coordinator, R.I. Literacy Resource Group, have both given their full support and will be among our speakers at this event. Other speakers will speak on in new forms of literacy such as economic literacy, cultural literacy, etc. which are critical in developing a more understanding and peaceful world.
Important Note:
To encourage attendance we are implementing the following early-bird fee scale:
S$25 per pax for registrations received and paid in Nov 2009 (Register Now)
S$32 per pax for registrations received and paid in Dec 20 09
S$40 per pax registrations received and paid in Jan 2010
Would you, especially our Rotarians from overseas, be interested in a business networking, entertainment, sightseeing or fellowship event on the evening after the seminar? This will be optional and an additional fee may be payable. Do let us know. We love to hear from you and will do our best to meet your requests.
