Chinese New Year 2022 Message from District Governor Dolly Yeap

Friday, 4 February 2022

Dear fellow Rotarians,

As we usher into the lunar new year, I take this opportunity to thank everyone for your dedication and devotion in service to your local communities and beyond.

With this pandemic still with us, there are undoubtedly fears amongst us of how our future is going to be. What is going to happen to our livelihood. These are genuine concerns, and we pray that this coming year of the Tiger things will turn for the better.

We, Rotarians are resilient people and people of action mindful always that they are many out there who are without food and roof above their heads. We are firm believer of what was written by Anne Frank “no one has ever become poor by giving”.

I can only share my experience that when I donated blood, I am helping some one who needed it to survive. I took it for granted as it is in me all the time. When my mum was a dialysis patient she said to me, I have all the money in the world, but I have no appetite for food. And, that money cannot buy.

Despite the prevailing adversities, everyday is still a blessing for us. We are adopting to the new norms pretty well connecting virtually everyday for fellowship and doing our usual Rotary business of service and growing more to do more.

You are the lifeline of Rotary and I encourage you to spread out your wings to your family members and friends to share our Rotary motto “Service Above Self”.

I wish all dear fellow Rotarians, family members, Rotaractors and friends of Rotary good health, plenty of wealth, and happiness always in this year of the Tiger.

Yours truly,
Dolly Yeap.
