Rotary Club of Suntec City

A graduate from the National University of Singapore with a B.Sc. degree in computer and information sciences, Joanne Kam spent 15 years with Hewlett-Packard in Asia Pacific senior management positions in enterprise servers, PCs,
and technology finance business units.

After leaving Hewlett-Packard in 2001, she searched for a platform to give back to the community. She found Rotary, a trusted and established organisation, through which she could serve.

Joanne joined the Rotary Club of Suntec City in February 2004. She was club president in 2007-08. She spearheaded her club’s active participation in Rotary Foundation global grant projects in Thailand. Her club earned several Rotary Citations, 100% Foundation Giving club banners, and 100% EREY club banners.

Joanne was her club’s Rotarian of the Year in 2004-05, 2011-12, and 2016-17, and won the Rotary International Club Builder Award in 2014-15. She served as assistant governor in 2009-10, 2016-17, and 2017-18. Since 2005, she has facilitated at PETS, DISTAS, and RLIs. She also held other senior district appointments in membership and The Rotary Foundation.

Joanne was a board member of the Foundation of Rotary Clubs (Singapore) Limited from 2011 to 2015. She was also a Rotary Service Hub Management Committee member in 2016-17.

Joanne attended RI conventions in Bangkok (2012), Sydney (2014), Seoul (2016), Atlanta (2017), Toronto (2018), and Hamburg (2019). Since 2016, she attended Rotary Institutes and was the 2018 Yogyakarta Rotary Institute co-promotion chair.

Joanne is the 2018-21 Assistant Rotary Coordinator. Since 2018, she has been the organising secretary and trainer for four Regional Leaders’ Meetings, Regional Team Training, Joint Regional Seminar, and District Membership Chair Training.

Joanne is a Major Donor Level 1, Benefactor, and a Paul Harris Society member. Her son, Lionel, is studying at the National University of Singapore.

She enjoys traveling, music, wellness, and metaphysical studies.
